TATTOO AFTERCARE

Thank you for choosing Rock Star Tattoo & Piercing. This document is not intended as medical advice, consult this information with your tattoo provider or doctor.

Keep bandage on for 2-3 hours.
After 2-3 hours, remove bandage carefully (if it sticks, wet bandage and remove slowly.)
Once uncovered, wash with warm mild soap and water (using fingertips), then wash three times per day for the next 7-14 days.
Use Aquafor (or non-scented lotion), apply a very thin layer as often as possible to prevent your tattoo from drying out.
If rash occurs, discontinue the use of the ointment and call Rock Star Tattoo & Piercing
Never peel or pick any part of your tattoo. If you do, you will lose color and it could result in additional expense in re-coloring. (Any loose skin will work itself off without any help from you).
DO NOT use alcohol to clean tattoo
DO NOT expose to direct sunlight or tanning beds for at least 2 weeks. (After 2 weeks, use sun block of at least 30 SPF or with zinc to prevent color fading of your tattoo)
DO NOT soak tattoo in sauna, steam bath, or bathtub for at least 2 weeks. (Yes, showering is okay)
AVOID chlorine! No swimming in pools, lakes, rivers or oceans for at least 2 weeks.
Remember that your tattoo is an open wound until it’s completely healed, so please follow the guidelines above..

Avoid tight clothing that can rub, irritate or snag your new piercing

Suck on ice (for the next 3-5 days during the swelling period we recommend you gently suck on ice to keep the pain and swelling down to a minimum. This is most helpful the same day you receive your piercing).
Stay away from foods that require a lot of chewing and foods that are too hot or spicy
